Basilica of Bom Jesus, Reis Magos Church, Se Cathedral, Church of St. Augustine, Church of St. Francis, Mary Immaculate Conception and St. Anne Church are some of the famous churches in Goa.



Basilica of Bom Jesus: 

This church is known to hold the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. This church is situated around 10 kilometers away from the new city of Panjim. 'Bom Jesus' (literally, 'Good (or Holy) Jesus') is generally a name which is used for the infant Jesus. This church is considered as the best examples of Baroque structural design in India. In the church, travelers can witness beautiful paintings with scenes which taken from the life of St. Francis Xavier.

Se Cathedral Church:

The Se Cathedral church of Goa is one of the largest churches of Asia. Built by the Portuguese, its grandeur and magnificence depicts the glory of Portuguese rule.
Built in the 16 th century its architecture shows traces of Gothic and Portuguese influences.Dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria, the church Goan religious places has exquisite paintings that reveal the stories of her life. The famous Golden Bell of Goa is located in this Church.

Ruins of Church of St. Augustine:

This place of worship in Goa Built in the year 1602, the 46 m high tower is the only remnant of the huge church.

Sri Mangesh Temple

Sri Mangesh temple is a famous temple located in the Ponda district in Goa. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The lovely temple attracts lots of devotees and the architecture of the temple follows every norm of the traditional Hindu architectural style.

Sri Ananta Temple

The Ananta Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in Ponda in Goa. The temple attracts many devotees and is located amidst serene and beautiful landscapes. The pillars of the temple are decorated with delicate and detailed carvings.

Sri Shantadurga Temple

Shantadurga temple is dedicated to the Goddess known as Shantadurga who is known to be a peaceful form of Goddess Durga. According to legends, she settled a major dispute between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu amicably. The temple is constructed beautifully and is located amidst scenic landscapes.
